Santa Clarita – Get the feel of a small town in Santa Clarita and avoid the crowds in Los Angeles

Santa Clarita is located north of Los Angeles in the beautiful region north of the San Fernando Valley. It is becoming a popular spot for visitors to Southern California to stay and play. If you are looking for a small town while being just half an hour from Los Angeles then this is the place for you.

If you have children of all ages, Santa Clarita offers activities that will inspire and delight you. Six Flags Magic Mountain has made this city known more than twenty years ago and is still an adventure park for children of all ages. There are roller coasters, water rides and even an area for younger kids. During the summer, thematic shows are held with artists from around the region, including some from the world-famous California Institute of the Arts, located just five kilometers away in the Valencia district. Six Flags also has Hurricane Harbor, a complete water park where you can spend a hot summer's day.

Santa Clarita also hosts the Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons. There is local and professional entertainment throughout the year, and last year we enjoyed Wayne Newton, Manhattan Transfer and the work of our local talent in a production of Beauty and the Beast.

The Old Town of Newhall is another part of this city that you should not miss during your visit. Walk down Main Street and visit the Cowboy Walk of Fame, where many people are on the sidewalk shooting films and television programs, starting with William S. Hart and Gene Autry over sixty years ago. Every spring Newhall organizes the Cowboy Festival with music, dance and many other activities for young and old. You can visit the Hart Museum and visit the house that Hart built in the 1920s. There are even buffalos on the property, the descendants of the buffalo that William S. Hart received from Walt Disney in the 1960s. If you enjoy shopping and dining, this city offers some of the best. There are the Valencia Town Mall as well as many smaller boutiques. The restaurants offer a variety of styles, from French cuisine and Italian to local cuisine.

You will find that Santa Clarita is one of the most pleasant places to visit and relax. If you have time and energy, you can drive south for about 30 minutes and visit Los Angeles.
